This is the third artwork in the Nautical Series. This digital landscape is a digital painting done in both Corel Painter and Photoshop CS2 with a Wacom Intuos3 tablet. No photo references were used. The blazing sun sets behind a dancing ocean. I was going for a minimalistic look here-- the beach, the sunset, a single bird. What more could one ask for?
There is something very calming and soothing about sitting on the beach and hearing that water roll in. You can't help the serenity that washes over you with each wave. I was going for that here. I hope you feel peaceful when you view this piece! (Click on one of the images below to view them bigger at my imagekind gallery).

Photoshop CS2, Photomanipulation. "The Cure" is the nineth artwork in the Woodland Series. "The Cure" sets the tone for what will be the final piece. Look closely-- or you'll miss something in this digital landscape. "The Cure" adds more healing to the Woodland journey.
The last piece in the Woodland Series will focus on victory--a healing victory at that! It has been my hope and prayer that the Woodland Series will help YOU on your journey to healing--whatever that may be--mental, physical, emotional, anything!

This is the eight artwork in the Woodland Series. Photoshop CS2, photomanipulation. "Bless This Child" is the start of a turning point in the series that will continue until its end. The series has had to go through a lot before it could get to this point. Blessings don't always appear to be blessings until much later. But, ultimately, they are what bring us happiness and great joy.
There will only be 2 more in the woodland series... then I will probably take a break from all of this photomanipulation and start more paintings :). I've got to put that tablet to work!

"Hope Blooms" is the seventh in the Woodland Series. (Digital Landscape: Photoshop CS2, Photomanipulation). I really enjoyed this one. Sometimes the space is empty, and the only thing there is hope. "Hope Blooms" speaks to such occasions. Does it speak to you?
At the time I was creating this I didn't want to believe that HOPE was actually blooming. But later I found that she was blooming. Oh ye of little faith. As my mother always says, "There is always that hope."

"Tree of Jealousy" is the sixth artwork in the Woodland Series. (Photoshop CS2, photomanipulation). This piece provides an interesting turn in the Woodland Series. It explores the idea of the many masks that Jealousy wears and where he or she grows or comes from. The text at the bottom of the image says, "not in my garden." "Tree of Jealousy" is very different from the others in the series...

The latest addition to the Woodland Series (number 5 to be exact) is "Driven Point." Like the others, this digital landscape is a photomanipulation done entirely in Photoshop CS2. This artwork is made up of 6 different photographs put into one. One of these days I should post the original photographs of these pieces to show you what they started out looking like and how I put them all together.

Here is a close up portion of "Driven Point":
This piece deals with emotional healing--something we all have to be willing to go through if we are to become a better person (to ourselves and to others). There is a poem at the top and repeated text that covers the length of the piece that was essential in its making. How does this piece relate to you and your emotional healing?

The fourth piece in the Woodland Series is "Forgiven Water." Like the others, this digital landscape is a photomanipulation done entirely in Photoshop CS2. There are a total of 4 photographs in this piece with a touch of digital painting.
This piece focuses on forgiveness-- of others, of oneself, of God. Surely if God is willing to forgive us of every fault we've made, then we can forgive ourselves, right? "Forgiven Water" asks this very question. So, what do you think?

Below is a close up of the middle of this artwork. Once, again there is a lot of detail and textures in this piece as in the other art pieces in the Woodland Series.

This is the third piece in the Woodland series. Like the others, this is digital photo manipulation created in Photoshop CS2. Although a little unsettling at first glance, "Changing" starts to work on your wonder and amazement at what is going on in the image while your eye scrolls around the canvas. Perhaps this piece is asking us, "what is the relationship between change and time?"

I also wanted to show you a close up of this piece. "Changing" is full of details and textures as you can see below. This is the actual size of the bottom right hand corner:

Here is the next piece I've completed in the Woodland series. This piece was done completely in Photoshop CS2 by photo manipulation. All the photographs used in this piece were taken by me. This piece is meant to arouse the curiousity in you. Where does this door lead? The key is there just waiting to be turned... There is a bright light coming from the other side. What connections do you see in this piece and the first piece in the Woodland Series-- "The Fountain of Grace and Elegance"?
